A simple tool to understand each other better when communication becomes more difficult.
Try the free pilot projectFor some time now, communication with my father has become more difficult.
It was by trying to communicate better with him that I created DisLis.
He is hard of hearing and has Ménière’s disease. Even with hearing aids, he often has to “reconstruct” what he hears. He sometimes says he feels a bit “on another planet.”
We repeat ourselves. We speak louder. We stand face to face.
And even then, some conversations simply become… exhausting.
Since I’m a developer, I tried to create something very simple to help us.
Not a complicated app. Not a technical tool.
Just a different way to talk to each other.
So I created a simple tool that displays what is being said in real time, to make communication easier when hearing becomes more difficult.
DisLis shows what you say in real time, so the other person can simply read it.
Less repeating.
Less frustration.
And sometimes, just… a conversation that feels normal again.
DisLis is still in development.
For now, I’m sharing it as a pilot project to see whether it can help other people in similar situations.
